Humor Side Comics
Bill’s career as a cartoonist began when he started copying cartoons from comic strips, the New Yorker, and editorial cartoons in the fifth grade. After some time, he developed his distinctive appearance while mostly focusing on the art. He quickly came to the conclusion that his characters would require interaction and activities, so he came up with a strange little world for them to live in. All those around him quickly turned into prey.
Bill began creating cartoons for the student newspaper by his sophomore year. Later, he created flyers for book and record stores and freelanced for periodicals like the Saturday Evening Post, Advertising Age, Boston Phoenix, Wall Street Journal, and King Features. In the 1980s, he syndicated the sports panel cartoon Sidelines.
