Laurel and Hardy were a very popular world-famous comedy duo. They were actually Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Stan Laurel was born in England in 1890. His name was Arthur Stanley Jefferson. He was from a theatrical family. His father was in the theatre and his mother had connections to the theatrical profession. This led to Stan’s early experience in performance and acting.
