Selling a home is already one of the most stressful and emotional experiences anyone can go through. Between juggling realtors, endless showings, and keeping the place spotless for strangers, emotions can run high. But what happens when a potential buyer not only disrespects your property but also mocks the price you’ve listed it for? That’s exactly what happened to me. What started as a normal house viewing quickly turned into a heated confrontation, accusations of “wasting time,” and even tears. Now I’m left wondering… was I too harsh, or was I just standing my ground?

Let’s find out what other Redditors think about this story.

At the end of the day, buying or selling a home is a huge financial and emotional decision, and respect needs to go both ways. I don’t believe it’s fair for strangers to insult the value of the home I poured years of work and money into, then cry foul when I set boundaries. Yes, I could have been more polite, but I also believe in protecting my space and not letting people waste my family’s time. So here I am, questioning myself: was I truly out of line for standing up to them, or was I simply refusing to be disrespected in my own home?
