Parenting often brings tough decisions, but when morals and personal beliefs clash with teenage independence, the stakes feel even higher. My husband and I adopted a vegan lifestyle years ago, and while we’ve never forced our kids to follow our path, we’ve held firm to one rule—our home remains a vegan space. Recently, however, this rule has turned into a battleground, and I’m starting to wonder if we’ve gone too far or if our kids are simply rebelling against boundaries.

Now, with our teens furious and even threatening to move out, I’m torn between holding to my values and respecting their growing independence. I never wanted this lifestyle to drive a wedge in our family, but right now it feels like we’re worlds apart.
