We are told that to be successful, we must work hard. but what if we don’t dream of labor? what if the thought of working another day makes us feel ill? according to the bureau of labor statistics, in 2016, the average american worked 8.5 hours a day. but what if, instead of dreaming of labor, we dreamed of relaxation, of spending time with the people we love, of traveling to new and wonderful places?
1. I don’t Dream of Labor
people think that they will be forced to work after their salary and that sooner or later they will have to retire, so they need to work a lot for saving their money. This is not true because as the night passes by, people lose their interest for their favorite hobbies, crimes and vices and start to lead a miserable life. The only happiness a person gains by working is being able to buy something he wants. There is no happiness that derives from making more money than you ever had no matter how much it augments your hoard of money. Nowadays, people think that in order to receive affections and spend their spare time in happiness, one must work. But this is not so. There are thousands of beauties in the world, too many sums of money, or a lack of money, and each of them offers happiness. People often find pleasure in gaining things, hence the difference between them and the blind people.
2. When I Dream of Work
I think about what it would be like if I don’t have to work. I think about what it would be like to have free time. When I do have free time, it’s fantastic. I spend hours out on the back bumper of my truck, collecting glass. I think about the glasses I have that are cracked or have missing them and I feel nervous that I’ll forget to take them and then they will shatter. I think about how bad it would hurt and how horrible I would look if someone found them. But I’m not really supposed to be glass collecting outdoors, the insurance policy I have covers it but still, it’s not a good idea. This is why I put pictures of my collection up on Instagram. But my priority isn’t glass collecting. It’s life, I sign up for camping and hiking trips, I try new beers at beer festivals. When I travel, I get to see places that most people would never get to see. I am a lucky guy, because I do what I want. the perfect day, to me, would include those things along with lounging by my pool
3. Why I Do Not Dream of Work
I was tired of working at that job, and for me, that was when i decided to start thinking about a career change. Now that i have changed jobs, people constantly ask how it went, or how my new job is. That is when I started reflecting on my experience and how money is necessary. What’s more: I would rather earn money because it makes me the happiest to know that i can buy whatever I want for my favorite and love one. Working could feel stressful sometimes, but it constantly makes me feel trapped. As soon as I finished a job, I am forced to think of the next one and the next one again, month after month after month. I am after to get that feeling back, to explore the world, to make new companions and explore new cities.
