AITA for not letting my son go to his father’s wedding with his mistress?

Divorce is never easy, but when infidelity is involved, the wounds cut even deeper. I’ve tried to keep things civil with my ex-husband for the sake of our son, even after finding out he was cheating on me not once, but twice, with the same woman. Now, less than a year after our divorce, he’s rushing to marry his mistress — and demanding that our son attend. The problem? The wedding falls on a weekend that’s mine for custody, and it also happens to clash with a family birthday party my son is excited for.

Wondering what Reddit thinks? Let’s take a look.

At the end of the day, my ex can spin this however he wants, but I’m not rearranging my son’s life so he can play happy family with the woman he broke our marriage over. My son already chose where he wants to be, and I refuse to guilt him into attending a wedding he never asked to go to. Maybe my ex and his family see me as bitter or difficult, but to me, this isn’t about revenge — it’s about protecting my son’s happiness and honoring his choice. So, am I wrong for standing my ground and keeping him from his father’s wedding?

What do you think?
