AITA for ordering a giant steak against my MIL will, actually eating it and refusing to cover the entire bill?

Family dinners are supposed to be about good food and bonding, but with my in-laws, it often feels more like a battlefield. My mother-in-law has always been critical about what I eat, but last week’s dinner escalated things to a whole new level. What started as me simply ordering a meal turned into a blowout argument about how much a woman should eat, and somehow ended with demands that my husband and I cover the entire bill.

Social Media Shade and Passive Aggression

Time to see how Reddit weighs in on this drama.

Now, my MIL is furious, some of my in-laws are throwing shade on social media, and I’m being painted as the villain for daring to enjoy my dinner. My husband is firmly on my side, but the rest of his family seems determined to shame me over something as simple as finishing my food. I can’t help but wonder—did I really cross a line, or is this just another case of my MIL making drama out of nothing?

What do you think?
