A bear is in front of a cottage in another Far Side comic. The bears were drawn to the cabin’s contents, which undoubtedly contained a container of milk, the caption says. Although it’s easy to imagine a bear becoming hooked on human possessions, the animation is humorous because it shows how absurd it is for a bear to be fixated on a milk cartoon.
One of Larson’s most well-known comics features a herd of cows standing in a pasture. One of the cows is looking off into the distance while holding a map in its mouth. “The first cow that discovered milk probably looked like this,” the caption states. This hilarious and thought-provoking comic explores questions about the origins of human knowledge and how we acquire it.
