10 Dreamlike photos of the Accidental Surrealism

There are many times when people notice something dreamlike and share photos of it on social media.  The term “surrealism” was first used by the artist André Breton in 1924, to describe his painting “Nu descendant un escalier (Descent of the Nude)”, which depicts a nude woman descending a staircase at an angle, as though her feet were on two different levels.

The term “accidental surrealism” was coined by photographer, writer and researcher David Lynch in a video interview with the BBC. He describes the phenomenon as a “strange and beautiful coincidence of two things that have nothing to do with each other, but they just happen to be there at the same time.”

Lynch has also explained that these images are not created in Photoshop or any other digital editing software. It is simply a matter of capturing an image at the right time and place. Many times people noticed something surreal and shared photos of the “accidental surrealism.” These photos are not edited, but they create a feeling of dreaminess.
